Summits for Cures
Our goal is to create awareness and support for various causes through community and physical challenges.
Who are we?
Just a few guys that care about others! We met as strangers during our service in the United States Marine Corps and we left as family. During our service, we have been through various challenges that had tested us, both physically and mentally. Now that our time in the service has come to end, we want to continue pushing ourselves, but this time for a charitable cause.
Summits for Cures: Parkinson’s
Summits for Cures first ever event will be held this August in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We will try to summit 10 different 14ers in 5 days! With 45 miles of hiking and 21,036ft in elevation gain this will be a challenge that pushes us both mentally and physically.
Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder that affects the nervous system and the parts of the body controlled by the nerves.
Our first event is held in honor of Reta Flores; Beloved mother, wife, and friend. Reta is survived by her husband Julian Flores and two sons, Phillip and Shane Flores. After a long fulfilling career, she enjoyed spending her retirement with her two dogs, fishing in her dream pond, and spending time with her grandchildren. All donations on behalf of Reta will be donated to The Michael J Fox Foundation to raise awareness for Parkinson’s research.

“To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, to draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of life”
— Walter Mitty
